…Couldn’t Put Humpty Together Again!

You may be thinking:

“What sort of title is that for a post?”

Well, if you’ve been reading the posts I’ve written for the last few weeks, you’ll see I’ve been writing the nursery rhyme; Humpty Dumpty.

And why would I want to write about old Humpty?

Because what had been going on in the stock markets as of late made me think of Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall.

The ‘King’s Horses & King’s Men’ equalled the governments and traders of the world but you know what, things seem to be picking up as I type.

Putting an egg back together is no easy task but putting the markets back together, especially when it equates to being your very own trading account, that’s far easier, isn’t it?

It may not be as easy as you’d like at times but if you consider being faced with putting Humpty Dumpty together again, or getting your trading skills in order, what do you think would be easier?

Anyway, talking of easy, or might I say; straightforward, I stuck with what I usually do and that’s to trade at the same time on the same market with the same set of trading rules in mind.

And yet again, so did the markets (just like last week) and where it says ‘Great’ above, for many it doesn’t mean ‘Great’ in the good sense either!

But you know what?

If you know what you‘re doing, what you‘re looking for and what you intend to get out of what‘s going on, you could still do very well for yourself in these (seemingly) trying times.

Maybe it just boils down to having a plan and sticking to it until you succeed!

Here’s another thing, even though the markets are falling, or money is being lost, there is still somebody out there making money, you did know that, didn’t you?

Well, when it come to trading the financial markets, you could make money whether the markets Rise or Fall…

…and that’s what I meant when I wrote the words above; ‘If you know what you’re doing etc… you could still do very well for yourself.

What if you could figure out a way to make as much money as you would like (legally that is) from trading the financial markets?

Well, that’s what I would call the ability of a true trader, as that’s what they intend to do… and as for me, I’m with the rest of them…

Well, it seems when your back is against the wall, that’s when you’ll find out if you have the ‘Mettle’ to withstand what is thrown at you.

Ouch!!!

Trading today was a bit of a challenge, not because it was difficult to do but because I was faced with so many new aspects to what I wanted to do.

But you know what?

If you have a plan and a ‘Blueprint’ in how to make that plan work, it should work, no matter what, or at least in the end if you stick at it long enough. 

But at times even the best laid plans come unstuck but it’s up and down to you and me to find the materials to make that plan gel together, if you know what I mean.

How Many (Trading) Screens Do You Have?

And how many are too much or too little?

Well, since there are no true rules to trading except for those rules that you use and that work (for you), the amount of screens that you may use are just the right amount that helps you to trade successfully.

What I do over here is always look for newer and simpler ways to read into what’s going on in the markets by determining what charts and how many charts and screens I look at.

You may be the type of trader who prefers to look at the Price figures, well, I do that too because if you do study your markets carefully, just judging by the Price alone, you should know whether it’s a High or Low Price and whether it’s good to Buy or good to Sell.

You may not like the above title because maybe you like to live life without a care in the world but then again, living your life seriously may just be the way you like to live it.

But what I’m really getting at today is in how you trade the financial markets…

…do you take your trading seriously?

Or do you take the odd flutter here and there and now and again?

I must admit, some years ago, I took it all quite lightly because there were times I was sitting on top of a good looking trade, thinking trading was all so easy.

But you know what?

Trading’s not that hard to do but there are elements within it that we all struggle with.

And that struggle came into my life, where it all suddenly became more difficult and challenging to do.

And it seemed the longer I traded (in the sense of the time span being over the years), the more challenging it became.

Maybe I wasn’t taking my trading seriously enough, in fact, there was a time I wasn’t taking my trading seriously enough.

Isn’t hindsight good?

One day I would knuckle down to it and get serious and the next day I wouldn’t!

And I believe taking your trading seriously is all about how you go about placing your trades, taking your profits, taking your losses, who you share your ideas with and deciding on whether you choose to keep your ideas to yourself, or getting involved in some sort of trading group.

A bit of sharing of trading ideas is okay now and again but do remember your aim must be to find your own unique way to trade the markets and make it work, just for you!

And since I’ve made my fair share of trading mistakes, I now trade (seriously) like my life depended on it because it does and you could (perhaps) adopt the same ‘Discipline(?)’ in your trading endeavours too.

Short And Sweet Keeps It Neat!

What do you think of the above statement?

Do you believe it?

Or would you prefer things (such as your working day) to be long, hard and arduous?

Getting up at the crack of dawn is exactly an easy thing to do for many…

…but if those many had it in mind that they could get up, get things done and have the rest of the day to do other things of leisure and pleasure, maybe, just maybe they would suffer the rising early in the mornings.

But in order to rise early in the morning (to place your trades), you need to know what to trade, what suits you in the way of your trades and what makes you profits.

Since I’m always thinking of how to improve my game, I constantly look, study and test my trades in order to make them ‘Short, Sweet & Profitable.’
